The Daily Vault Album Reviews : Edge Of Excess
But Triumph, by virtue of having drummer Gil Moore and Emmett teaming up to share the singing/songwriting duties through the eight-album history of the band, had always been more dynamic than most bands with regards to the chemistry found on each album.
Sure, Moore's songwriting was never overly sophisticated but that never mattered to me. He has always had a rock voice that could handle singing some blues as parts of "Black Sheep" would illustrate.
Moore and bassist Mike Levine did a noble job in keeping the rock n' roll machine moving forward with this release.

Almost unbelievably, Moore manages to turn the established continuity on its ear, and goes on to spin complex and charming backstories for all of the participants, which go further toward explaining the characters and their motivations than the original series ever did.

Triumph - Biography - AOL Music
Late-'70s/early-'80s prog metallists Triumph endured countless comparisons to Rush throughout their career, and with good reason; they were both quite similar musically and lyrically, comprised of three members each, and hailed from Canada (although it must be said that Rush was the originator, and were much more commercially successful).
Formed in Toronto during 1975, the trio consisted of guitarist/singer Rik Emmett, drummer/singer Gil Moore, and bassist/keyboardist Mike Levine, and issued their self-titled debut a year later via the independent Attic label.
Come 1988, Emmett opted to leave the group to pursue a solo career, but instead of calling it a day, Moore and Levine decided to carry on with a new frontman/guitarist, while an 11-track best-of set, Classics, was issued a year after Emmett's exit.

Anchored by lead guitar whiz Rik Emmett, the lead vocal duties of the band had always been split between himself and drummer Gil Moore.
The fretwork exhibited here showcases Rik Emmett as a guitarist for the ages and one that didn't have to rely on the chemistry of a band to be a success.
The diversity of the songs on Thunder Seven should be cemented by the power of Moore and Emmett dueting their way through the song "Killing Time."  Metal Dreams - Interview with TRIUMPH's Gil Moore
The band is Triumph, and while not as well known as Rush, I believe they were a much more appealing act, releasing ten studio albums and one live album from 1976-1992.
Consisting of vocalist/guitarist Rik Emmett, bassist Mike Levine, and vocalist/drummer Gil Moore, the band had an original hard rock sound that incorporated other elements such as blues and jazz.
While Emmett has continued releasing solo albums and touring in relative obscurity, Moore and Levine left the stage entirely.
