The Other Two are, namely, Gillian Gilbert and Steven Morris, longtime members of super group New Order (she plays keyboards and guitar and he is the programmer / percussionist).
The working relationship between Gillian and Steven is augmented by a personal one as well, and having such a closeness "makes it hard to stop working, because we are always there in our home studio together," explains Morris.
Although they are currently being kept quite busy recording an upcoming New Order release, Gillian Gilbert and Steven Morris look forward to performing live as The Other Two, fashioning an "event" feel for their shows that will recreate their textured, layered sound and break the bounds of a strictly rote performance.

The Other Two & You, the sole fruit of their side project, is a mostly a keyboard-and-drum-machine-based collection of tunes that feature the delicate alto of Gillian Gilbert on vocals.
The songs generally follow the structure of their better-known band’s songs with a lighter touch on the keys and without the distinctive guitar/bass/off-key vocal combination, which results in a lighter, more poppy feel, and a definite change of pace from their usual fare.

Boxing the music of a band whose sound was mainly synthesizer-oriented may be dabbling a bit too much in New Wave nostalgia.
Such approach, however, never compromised the instrumental chemistry carried over from the former group: Sumner's distinctive riffs, Peter Hook's melodic bass lines, Stephen Morris's adroit drumming, and Gillian Gilbert's synth flourishes and harmony vocals.
For most of the '80s and early '90s New Order would go on to achieve the commercial success that Joy Division could have never dreamed of.
