Gimpo Airport (formerly Kimpo International Airport) was the main international airport for Seoul and South Korea before it was replaced by Incheon International Airport in 2001.
The airport originally started out as a runway built by US forces in 1951 during the Korean War and has since grown into a much more significant airport that is capable of handling 226,000 flights a year.
The airport is still served by the subway, as well as by buses to Seoul and to Incheon International Airport.

Since I was flying into Incheon airport in Seoul, and you can't fly to Pohang from any other airport in Seoul but Gimpo, Andrew gave me this great advice to take a bus from Incheon - Gimpo, then get a taxi to a Yogwon (cheap hotel), relax, then fly out the next morning.
So I get to Gimpo airport on Monday night at 10pm, and the airport is closed (I didn't even know airports closed).
Anyway, had a relaxing night in the hotel, lovely bath, and made it back to the airport the next morning (there were no police in sight this time).
