	Gino Hernandez - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Gino Hernandez (born Charles Wolfe) was a professional wrestler.
		Hernandez was scheduled to compete on a house show the following Thursday and a non-televised wrestling card at the Sportatorium in Dallas the following Friday (both of which took place despite the nation going through the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster, which occurred a day after Hernandez' match with Adams).
		Initially Hernandez's death was ruled a homicide case, but following autopsy reports, his death was ruled as a result of an overdose of cocaine, however, many (even today) still believe Gino was murdered, because amounts of cocaine was also in his stomach.

		The Freebird-Von Erich rivalry was one of the most violent feuds in modern-day wrestling history, and continued off-and-on for much of the decade; Parsons, Adams, "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin and members of Skandor Akbar's Devastation Inc. stable were also involved in the Freebird-Von Erich feud directly or indirectly during the course of the angle.
		Adams and Hernandez eventually broke up and began feuding, and faced each other in a January 1986 match where the loser would have his hair removed with Freebird Hair Cream (a gimmick previously used in a June 1983 match between Iceman Parsons and Freebird Buddy Roberts).
		Tragically, by the time this angle aired on television a few days later, Hernandez was dead; his passing, which was revealed by an autopsy to be the result of a massive cocaine overdose, ended any prospects of a hot feud between the former partners.

		Gino Hernandez's death seems to be an unfortunate consequence of drug abuse.
		Gino Hernandez had a bad drug problem and if the people in the world class office knew about it and didnt get him off the road and tell him to go into rehab, they were endangering not only Gino but the people he was wrestling.
		Gino was the top heel, and the office had a lot of guys hurt or out, they needed him on the road.

		He was teamed with Gino Hernandez as a heel team known as The Dynamic Duo.
		While paired with Hernandez, Adams developed a gimmick that would later be used by Brutus Beefcake in the WWF--by using a pair of large scissors and cut the hair off opponents after each match.
		Four days after returning to England, Scotland Yard questioned Adams regarding Hernandez's death (which was originally considered a homicide case), but eventually Adams was not considered a suspect, and Gino's death was ruled a suicide by OD.

		Mike did have some success in WCCW over the next few years, mainly in the Six-Man Tag-Team ranks alongside his brothers (as well as Lance von Erich, a reputed long-lost cousin who actually wasn't related to the family).
		Mike did have a major singles victory in August '84, when, as a substitute for his brother Kerry (who no-showed), Mike defeated Hernandez to win the NWA American Heavyweight Title.
		Unfortunately, in the middle of '85, Mike's career took a turn for a worse, as a shoulder injury placed him on the shelf after surgery.
