Scholars currently believe the originals were painted by Bonifacio Bembo.
Nineteen cards have been recreated to replace missing originals; the missing cards were rendered by Luigi Scapini.
The four “missing” cards -- the Devil, the Tower, the Knight of Pentacles, and the Three of Swords -- were interpreted and “reconstructed” by artist Giovanni Scarsato of Milan.
