In the church treasury is Luca Giordano's ceiling fresco of the Triumph of Judith (1704) and Ribera's masterful Descent from the Cross.

Built between 1584 and 1601 by Giuseppe Valeriano, this church rises on the site of the fifteenth-century palazzo dei Sanseverino; from this latter building the church incorporated the unusual diamond façade by Novello da Sanlucano (1470).
It was dedicated to the Immacolata and right from the inauguration was called Gesù Nuovo, by the people to distinguish it from the Gesù Vecchio.
This is considered one of the most interesting examples of Neapolitan baroque and we can admire works by Cosimo Fanzago (Davide e Geremia), Giovanni Lanfranco (Evangelisti, 1638), Giuseppe De Ribera (Storia di Sant'Ignazio), Luca Giordano (Storia di San Francesco), Francesco Solimena (La cacciata di Eliodoro dal tempio, 1625).

The Prado didnt disappoint, and while I wasnt too familiar with Spanish art, I quickly found myself falling in love with some of the artists works.
Giuseppe Ribera and Diego Velázquez were both exceptional, and stood out from the crowd.
After a few hours in the museum, I noticed that the time was quickly nearing 1700, and I had to eat, go back to the hostel, then metro to the Bullring for 1900, so I headed out.

A pioneer of Ufology in his country, he was among the founders of the Center for Interplanetary Studies in 1958, and during nearly 40 years was the author of hundreds of articles and twenty-odd UFO books, five of which were translated and also published in Italy.
