Convenience - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Supposed "conveniences" also sometimes turn out to be a nuisance, including personal computers (often difficult to use, though this is improving gradually) and mobile phones (with annoying rings and conversations in what would or should be a quiet place).
Conveniences also cost money to fix when they break down, and may cause much greater costs if something else that depends on them cannot take place.
On the other hand, conveniences such as direct deposit can save everyone money, though this may or may not be passed along to the consumer.

USA: The death penalty in Texas: lethal injustice - Amnesty International   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-13)
In Texas a death sentence is imposed by the trial court if the jury concludes that the defendant would pose a future danger [8] if allowed to live (often referred to as the "future dangerousness" question) and rejects any mitigating evidence that may warrant a life sentence.
Every commutation of a death sentence granted in Texas since reinstatement (a total of 36), was sought by the State trial officers (the judge, prosecutor and/or sheriff) and was based on a policy of judicial expediency: a decision to commute in order to avoid the costs of a re-trial.
The organization believes that even the most ardent supporter of the death penalty should accept that a defendant on trial for their life should be adequately represented and urges the Texas authorities to adopt the minimum standards for the appointment of legal counsel in death penalty cases set down by the American Bar Association.

To be precise, the Death Star II's orbital period must match the sidereal period of the moon: its period of rotation with respect to the non-inertial background of the universe, not in relation to Endor's sun or any other local body.

The document specifically said that, unless death was inevitable and imminent, ordinary treatments such as food, water and basic medical care were to be provided.
But as the "culture of death" keeps seducing even well-meaning patients, families and medical professionals into making death decisions based on fear of suffering or diminished quality of life rather than following the traditional principles of not causing or hastening death, ultimately we are all at risk of being "compassionately" rationalized to death.
