According to Archdeacon Thomas, St. Bridget (Ffraid) is traditionally supposed to have sailed from Ireland on a green turf, and landed on the bank of the River Conwy, about a quarter of a mile west of the present church.
The parish comprises the townships of Trellan, Trebwll, Tre Trallwyn, Tre Deunant and Pen y Rhos.
When Civil Registration was introduced (on 1 July 1837), the parish of Llansanffraid Glan Conwy was assigned to the No. 2 ("Creuddyn") sub-district of the Conwy Registration District; which was co-extensive with the Conwy poor law Union.

The Glanrafon work base, site of the former Glanrafon Sidings, was at the northern end of the stretch covered by WHLR Ltd's Contract 3E-2, started in May 2001.
The Glanrafon site was then taken over by Jones Bros as their work base for the refurbishment of Glan yr Afon Bridge.
WHLR Ltd machinery was noted back on site at Glanrafon in early June 2003, for the laying of ballast back from here to the bridge prior to tracklaying to join up the gap between the track laid north from Rhyd Ddu and south from Snowdon Ranger.
