I’m sure that you will know by now that Glen Jakovich has decided to hang up the boots at the end of this year, after a career spanning 13 seasons (by year’s end), 250+ AFL games and two premierships, and a period during the 90’s when he was arguably the best CHB in the game.
Anyhoo, Glen is pumping along as Glen does, he goes to balk, as he does, and suddenly he goes down like a sack of spuds - as he doesn’t do - clutching his leg.
Now Glen never had what you’d call a tight turning circle - that wasn’t really what he was about - but post-knee his turning circle really became what you’d describe as a gentle arc.

He does not yet work as hard to hold the ball inside fifty as a Brown or Barlow but his work rate on the lead and willingness to push outside fifty even as a full forward cannot be questioned.

Who Would Win: West Coast of 2006 vs West Coast of 1994
One person who might know the result to this game is Drew Banfield, he had 8 possessions in the 1994 AFL Grand Final and in the 2006 Grand Final he improved on that with 9 possessions, for this game he would start on the bench for both teams.
It would be a battle of the onballers that would decide the game, the 2006 team would need a lot more of the ball to have a chance at kicking a winning score, and that probably would not happen against Matera and the other 1994 Eagles.
And I'm not just saying that because I loved Glen Jakovich to the point of obsession until he retired.
