Northern Irish side Glenavon FC have appointed Jimmy Brown as their ninth manager in eleven years, replacing Tommy Kincaid who was surprisingly sacked earlier this week.
Brown only left the assistant manager's job at champions Glentoran FC three weeks ago and is best known for leading Carrick Rangers FC to a famous Irish Cup final victory against Linfield FC in 1976.
Livingston FC have beaten Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC to the signature of transfer-listed Aberdeen FC midfielder Derek Adams.

Gavin McCann has signed an two-year extension to his contract with Aston Villa FC keeping him at the Premiership club until summer 2008.
