Archinal's political career included unsuccessful campaigns for Queens Borough President, in 1945, and for a Congressional seat from Queens, which he lost narrowly in 1960 to a Democrat, Joseph P. Addabbo, who remained a Representative until his death last year.
He is survived by a daughter, Dolores Wieck of Glendale and Miami Beach; a sister, Mildred A. Herts of Georgia, and a grandson.
