The annual John Holmes Memorial Lecture honours the late John W. Holmes, O.C., an International Relations Professor at Glendon College, York University, from 1971 to 1981.
Shortly after his death in 1988, a memorial fund was set up at Glendon College to make possible a series of annual lectures sponsored by Glendon's International Studies Program.
Glendon College is the bilingual liberal arts faculty of York University.

Radio Glendon proposed to broadcast 126 hours of programming each week for seven months of the year during the fall and winter academic sessions, and 75 hours each week for four months during the summer academic session, as well as for one month during the Christmas break.
In addition, Radio Glendon claimed that CHRY-FM delivers a weak and unsatisfactory signal to Glendon College and is, thus, unable to serve its student population.
At the hearing, Radio Glendon stated that 40% to 50% of the courses offered at Glendon College are in French, and that all of the student body is bilingual to some degree.

An affiliate of York University, Glendon College is currently a bilingual school situated at a separate campus and offers students liberal arts courses with the option of incorporating the French language into the curriculum.
President of Glendon College Students' Union, Cedrick Therrien, said many students are opposed to the move since French is a way of life at Glendon which is enhanced by the small classes and separate campus.
Glendon professor of French studies and member elective of APPC Yvette Szmidt, agreed and said the French-speaking aspect of school would be diluted at main campus where it is mainly English-speaking.

Glendon had and continues to have three major advantages.
He was appointed to cabinet in 1985 and held a number of portfolios in the Liberal governments of 1985-90, including mnister of labour, minister of colleges and universities, minister responsible for women’s issues and minister of consumer and commercial relations.

Maybe you know already about the legend of the ghost of Glendon, but something happened to a guy who was living in my residence and it's kind of weird.
The Ghost at Glendon College is very much a reality; but not just in the rose garden (behind Glendon Manor) but very much in one room of Hilliard Residence.
Glendon was a great school, and ghost stories seem to run rampant - perhaps owing to its remote location and lack of options to do much else - but nonetheless residents of Hilliard residence when selecting their room may think twice about the end of the very long, very dark hall!

The ceremonies in June are scheduled by College for students in the Faculty of Arts and by various Faculty groupings for all other students.

Several students wrote letters of complaint about the council to the administration, and at the end of October the University was presented with a petition asking them to look into the council's finances and compliance to the GCSU constitution.

The Commission approves the application by Bayview Avenue Non-Profit Student Radio for a broadcasting licence to operate an English-language FM community-based campus radio station at Glendon College in Toronto.
Glendon College, which is affiliated with York University, currently operates CKRG Radio Glendon, an exempt carrier-current undertaking.
The Commission added, in the Campus Radio Policy, that it expects the board of directors of all campus radio stations "to include balanced representation from among the student body, the associated college or university (for example, faculty or administration), station volunteers, and from the community at large.
