Pests / Pest Control / Termite Control Sydney
As Chief Engineer of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Metropolitan Railway Construction from 1912, Dr Bradfield is regarded as the "father" of the Bridge as it was his vision, enthusiasm, engineering expertise and detailed supervision of all aspects of its construction which brought Sydney's long held dream into reality.
Central station, Sydney's main train station, is in the south of the city centre, and the main bus terminal is located outside it.
Sydney Harbour Bridge is the world's largest (but not longest as that’s the New River Gorge in the USA) steel arch bridge, and, in its beautiful harbour location, has become a renowned international symbol of Australia.

Tales of Asia - Sydney Guide
You can change trains at Glenfield for the Airport and East Hills Line, Liverpool and Cabramatta for the Southern, Inner West and Bankstown Lines and Parramatta, Westmead and Blacktown for the North Shore and Western Line.
The Bankstown line runs from Town Hall Station, via the city circle out to Bankstown, terminating in Liverpool in the west.
The Sydney bus network is extensive, goes pretty much everywhere most of the time (there are more than 300 different routes operating each day) and has departure points from all over the city (depending upon where you want to go).

 Christie Report 4
The construction of an additional platform at Berowra station, on the existing track loop used by trains travelling to the north, so that intercity trains to Gosford can stop at this station when the centre track is occupied by a suburban train terminating at this station.
New tracks through the unfinished platforms at Erskineville station, as part of this project, would enhance operational efficiency on both the Bankstown and East Hills lines by permitting Bankstown line trains to "queue" before reaching the junction and be overtaken by faster Illawarra and East Hills line services.
By far the most urgent of these projects is the upgrading of Town Hall station, which is already operating at saturation capacity during peak periods and is significantly affecting the reliability and capacity of the rail system, with station dwell times having to be as long as 90 seconds.

Over a 20 year period railway platforms and stations were established at Macquarie Fields, Glenfield, Campbellfield, Minto and Ingleburn.

Canterbury Heritage Panel - "East Hills Railway Line - Narwee Station"
Narwee Railway Station opened on 21 December 1931, and is the only station on the East Hills line in the Canterbury City area.
The remainder of the line was duplicated with the extension to Glenfield in 1987, and the link with Sydney Airport opened in 2000.
The name is said to be an Aboriginal word meaning "sun", perhaps selected because the station is on land called "Sunning Hill Farm" owned by Robert Gardner from 1819 to 1873.

All sydney suburban train services pass through Central Station.

There is little car parking space available on a per day basis (especially weekends) as UTS Markets Campus is both close to Paddys Markets, Darling Harbour, the Sydney Entertainment Centre, Chinatown and (obviously) the University.

The completion of the toll-free M5 East Motorway, City Rail station upgrades and improvements to the East Hills railway line are key initiatives for southern Sydney in the 2001-02 State Budget.
"This will be an important link for southern and western Sydney commuters, allowing them to travel from Prestons to the CBD without encountering a single set of traffic lights and reducing though traffic on local streets," Mr Scully said.
Mr Scully said the transport budget included a major package of improvements for CityRail commuters in southern Sydney, where patronage has boomed in recent years.

 Satellite Dispatch / Onroad / Don's Epic Journey / #7
And then, as things turned out, I arrived in Sydney (though not by pedal power) on April 24, so I got here just in time to attend the dinner at Hurlstone on April 26, which also happened to be my own birthday.
And lastly, it was already April 17 when I reached Bateman's Bay so that I realised that I had Buckley's chance of making it to Glenfield by pedal power in time for the festivities if I went via Canberra.
By the look of things I'll be here in Sydney for a few weeks at least, so I'll have time to send out a few more Newsletters.

Listing of Railway Workers in Nova Scotia from 1907 MacAlpine Directory compiled by Jay Underwood
Some individuals listed here may have been "freelance" porters, who waited outside the railway station and offered to carry the bags of travellers as they left the premises.
Some fireman listed here may actually be "firefighters’, not all city firemen listed their fire stations.
Sometimes addresses were not given, sometimes employment was given without additional detail hence, some descriptions may not relate to railway employment.

 TSROSS Railway Names List
Athough some rubber tired systems are in the list, they are not included as railways, but because they share railway signal systems in some manner.
Today, some roller coasters fall in to the railway class, but have not been included here, though the reason is obvious.
The list consists of railways for which we have information on record - This list includes operating railways (carriers and/or equipment), and railways with charters (non-operating), both current and defunct.

Mountain railways around the world owe much to Lithgow's Zig Zag Railway, which was built in the late 1860s.
The Zig Zag was built to move coal and produce to Sydney from beyond the Blue Mountains.
Once it transported goods from beyond the Blue Mountains to the Big Smoke; now, Lithgow's Zig Zag Railway is a scenic pleasure ride.
