Glenn Tilbrook - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Glenn Tilbrook (born Glenn Martin Tilbrook, in Woolwich, London on August 31, 1957) was the lead singer, and guitarist of the English group Squeeze, a power pop band formed in the mid-1970s.
Glenn generally wrote the music for Squeeze, while his writing partner, Chris Difford, wrote the lyrics.
In 2006, the documentary "Glenn Tilbrook: One for the Road" was released.

Tilbrooks' topics are wry; the twinkly ELO Out of the Blue vibe of "Neptune" takes an affectionate swipe at the underwhelming solo career of former-Squeeze cohort and ongoing mucker Chris Difford (who cowrites "Where Can I Be Your Friend") while "Reinventing the Wheel" gratifyingly champions the bachelorhood pleasures of the five-knuckle shuffle.
Glenn worked with amazing musicians and songwriters to create a worthy successor to the Squeeze back catalogue, and a great companion to his manic and highly entertaining solo gigs.
Glenn Tilbrook wrote all the catchy melodies, played a superbly understated electric guitar and sang his heart out.

When the wheel in question is the perfect three-and-a-half minute pop song, Tilbrook is a certified patent holder and member of that elite group that includes such tunesmiths as Lennon & McCartney, Ray Davies and Elvis Costello.
During spare moments, Tilbrook began to lay the groundwork for solo album number two, and as the title suggests, "Transatlantic Ping Pong", it came together on both sides of the pond.
