Glenn Tipton: Well, I think right from the word go we started to adjust to each other's playing and sort of develop a relationship on the guitar.
Glenn Tipton: Initially, the idea was to get another guitar player in the band so we could trade off licks or one could do the lead section while the other guitarist was playing rhythm to keep the band sounding full.
Glenn Tipton: We're playing a lot of songs of the new album, usually four or five tracks, which for us is a lot.

Unleashed in the East - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There have been many rumours about the album's authenticity as a "live" recording over the years, with claims that most or all, of Rob Halford's vocal tracks were overdubbed in the studio, along with the guitar tracks of Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing.
Tipton has denied these claims admitting however that some of Halford's vocals were "touched up" in the studio as his performance was affected by a flu during the tour, along with "a couple" of guitar parts, hence the rumours about the album which some people jokingly refer to as "Unleashed In The Studio".
The album was reissued on CD in 2001 with four bonus tracks, three of which were from "Hell Bent for Leather", their then-current album.

Yet the time has come for a re-released Baptizm of Fire and Edge of the World, and Glenn Tipton speaks excitedly to Classic Rock Revisited about material that should stoke the fires of anyone claiming to be a fan of hard rock and heavy metal.
Glenn: No. In fact, I don’t know if you know the whole story, Lee, but the first batch of songs was when I was with Atlantic.
Glenn: He said, ‘I’m doing dinner’ and we’d be in this massive dining room with these massive suits of armor, and he’d bring in fish and chips (laughs).

Glenn: He such a nice guy and a great character and I feel that he is one of the best rock drummers ever.
Glenn: It was a difficult time then, the metal e was darker, more rugged and I leaned in that direction but not too much as it would not have been me. The writing and performance of Baptizm leaned towards that where as EOTW has a more classic rock feel.
Glenn: Yes it does and we were going to blend the albums but once they were recorded it was two different animals.

Glenn: You know, it's something that I would love to do, and if the Priest schedule allows it, it would be so much fun to go out there and play tracks like "Voodoo Brother" and "Baptizm of Fire," or "Give Blood" or "The Holy Man" off the new album.
Glenn: Well, with Priest I'm starting to put pen to paper next month and, hopefully, this year now, we'll have another new Priest album out.

Whether it was in the back of everybody’s mind that someday we would is a different matter, but at that meeting it wasn’t the agenda at all.” Tipton chimes in, “We had a meeting over the box set and by the end of the afternoon; we were reformed.

The story goes something like this: when longtime Judas Priest guitarist Glenn Tipton completed work on his solo debut, 1997's Baptizm of Fire, Atlantic (his label at the time) suggested that "younger players" might be better suited to perform on some of the album's rhythm tracks.
But the original rhythm section for the album was certainly not your average bunch, as it was comprised of bassist John Entwistle and drummer Cozy Powell -- two players often considered to be among the best at their respective instruments.
Additionally, Tipton's vocals certainly won't be mistaken for Rob Halford's anytime soon, but they're certainly not cringe-worthy, either.

Judas Priest guitarist Glenn Tipton doesn't even know where to start on recounting the long, torturous trail of his solo debut album.
Tipton handled all the guitar work and, for the first time since his pre-Priest days in the early '70s, held his own at the microphone.
Tipton is most proud of the way "Baptizm of Fire" evolved and grew under such extraordinary circumstances and, despite the Priest-like approach, claiming its own style.

That isn’t a knock on Glenn as much as it is a statement of the times—if it wasn’t grunge music or alternative that a band was putting out back then, no one would even acknowledge it.
Tipton’s voice has often been considered a disappointment by many mostly since anything he does is going to be at least subliminally compared to his work in Priest--no one wants to be compared to Halford vocally.
Glenn was always a real melodic lead player and songwriter, where as K.K. just rips and grinds out killer solos and writes more heavy parts.

Glenn Tipton is renowned as one-half of the legendary metal band Judas Priest's groundbreaking twin-guitar attack.
Born in Birmingham, England, on October 25, 1948, Tipton played in several local bands before forming the Flying Hat Band, a heavy, Hawkwind-influenced prog rock unit, in 1972.
Tipton's partnership with K.K. Downing made for one of the most telepathic guitar teams in hard rock; the two were capable of keeping a groove in perfect synchronization, or trading off virtuosic solo licks.

Born in Birmingham, England, in 1948, Glenn Tipton had a rather late start in his musical journey not picking up a guitar until he turned twenty.
Tipton's creativity kicked in during this tumultuous time and he was inspired to create several batches of new solo material, pairing up with a short list of young hotshots, along with some rock legends.
Tipton followed up his re-mastered Baptism with a set of material he had stashed in his vault tha included unheard sessions with the late bassist John Entwistle (The Who) and drummer Cozy Powell (Jeff Beck Group, Rainbow, et al) entitled Edge Of The World.

Rough Edge: Glenn Tipton CD Reviews
Those same disappointed Priest fans would probably be happier with Glenn Tipton's 1997 solo outing, "Baptizm of Fire." "Baptizm of Fire" stays closer to the original Priest sound than, say, Fight's "War of Words." It's got the big riffs, the blistering solos and the heavy but not over-the-top power that Priest fans were used to.
While Tipton may be one of metal's true guitar gods, he's no Halford on vocals.
Joining Glenn Tipton on "Baptizm of Fire" are such noteworthy musicians as Robert Trujillo, Brooks Wackerman, C.J. de Villar, Shannon Larkin, Billy Sheehan, Cozy Powell, Don Airey, John Entwistle and Whitfield Crane.

As an original member of heavy metal forefathers Judas Priest, Tipton has dazzled fans and musicians alike with his aggressive yet melodic guitar playing and his unique staccato picking style.
I'm sure what made this type of project so appealing to Tipton was that he was able to work in formats not common to Priest, such as the stellar rendition of the Rolling Stones "Paint It Black" and the majestic instrumental "Baptizm of Fire".
There are some Judas Pries like numbers as well such as the opener "Hard Core." Overall, not as spectacular as some of Priest's best, but better than others.
