		Among the most well known stories involving military gliders are the assault of the Eben Emael fortress in May 10, 1940 by German paratroopers landing in DFS 230 gliders and the taking of the Pegasus Bridge by troops flown to within 50 metres of the site in Horsa gliders during the D-Day invasion of Normandy.
		A glider was even built secretly by POWs as a potential escape method at Colditz Castle near the end of the war in 1944.
		Gliders are equipped with an altimeter, compass and an air-speed indicator, and often with a radio, though in some countries the radio is not compulsory.

		Glider PRO was initially released for System 7 (which by later naming practices would be called "Mac OS 7") and was continuously updated through a Mac OS 9 version, the final release on the "Classic" Mac OSes.
		A debugging feature in the Mac OS 9 version of Glider PRO allows all of the graphics and sounds in the game (including the ones that cannot be directly replaced by a house's resource fork) to be overridden by alternative graphics.
		Glider PRO for Mac OS X will continue to run on Intel-based Macs through the Rosetta compatibility layer, but the potential for a Universal Binary (that runs natively on Intel and PowerPC alike) is highly dubious at best.

		newer airbag harness would have reduced injuries(my next harness).dhv2 gliders are not as pitch stable as 1-2 and might not have reacted as quickly to turbulance.bad things happen really fast in flying especially close to the ground in what i call the death zone 60-15 feet off the deck.
		I also had been flying with my wing (an old stable and slow DHV2 Pro Design Compact) for almost five years, had a few collapses with it in the past and was very confident to be able to handle it in the current conditions, even in the potentially turbulent area.
		The left wing though had broken forward and met the right such that their leading edges were touching, but the rest of the wing was pasted square up against the lines, being held there by my forward airspeed which was now rapidly bleeding of.

		Glider Pro is, in my humble opinion, one of the Mac world's unsung killer-apps.
		You play a little flying paper glider, that can only move forward or back, and has to be lifted by air vents, otherwise it will hit the ground, and die.
		Oh, and you can fire rubber bands, or use batteries to go fast, or helium to go up(if you can find some...) There are hundreds of levels available for download off the internet, and it comes with a gigantic level called Slumberland that even now, I havn't successfully beaten.
