		A two-year project is underway in Europe to produce a register of marine species, linked with a bibliography of identification guides, a register of European marine species identification experts, locations of reference specimens, and an Information Pack on European marine biodiversity (based on the project's results).
		As the project developed, it became clear that there were both issues of authorship and ownership of data to be resolved.
		The European project is one component of a global taxonomic inventory project, called Species 2000, which seeks to list all species in the world.

	Golbal Climate Change for Africa Project
		Phase II of the project explored these issues in more depth through a research grants program with the purpose of building a base of knowledge to strengthen African efforts to address the threat of climate change on their continent.

	Global Wet inventory
		Wetlands International and eriss recently undertook a project to review the global extent of wetland resources and identify priorities for wetland inventory.
		This was done under contract to the Bureau of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, with financial support from the government of the United Kingdom.
		Our project team consisted of people based in Australia, Canada, Malaysia and the Netherlands, supported by an international steering committee and colleagues worldwide.
