  Glorantha
Glorantha is as deep as you want it to be, or not.
Glorantha is a fantasy world that was created by Greg Stafford.
Then, Glorantha was quiet for three years, but that changed in 2000 with the publication of Hero Wars an all-new Gloranthan roleplaying game by the Glorantha corporation, Issaries Inc. (see the Product List page for more info on Glorantha publishing.) In 2003, a completely revised version of the game was published as HeroQuest.

It Takes a Thief (or, “How to Steal from Glorantha for Your Own Campaign”)
In creative circles there is an old adage that "talent imitates while genius steals." Glorantha began as the vision of a bright Beloit College freshman in the late 1960s.
Glorantha is an incredibly rich and deep world, but many gamemasters are fearful of incorporating Gloranthan elements into their own worlds and campaigns.
It might have been Glorantha inspired, but, once, you’ve taken a piece into your own world, make sure you are willing to run with your own creative energies.

Whatever Happened to the One True Glorantha?
Glorantha's mythology has always had an admirable degree of complexity, uncertainty and variability, since it first began to see print.
Whether the Runes reveal a deep harmony in the universe, to which even the gods must conform, or whether the gods produced the Runes and they are manifestations of the gods is a question of much dispute, even among the gods, from whom it is difficult to get a straight answer, anyway.

Glorantha is a world defined by its myths and has some very peculiar and sometimes anachronistic (or simply weird) cultures living side by side.
Glorantha is not low-magic in the sense of magic being rare, but it is low-magic in the sense that most spells and magic items are a lot less powerful than those in DandD.

The material in Hero Wars and Glorantha is excellent, but now that I've seen what the detail in Thunder Rebels/Storm Tribes can bring to a game, I really want the equivalent for my favorite "here to civilize you and accept your thanks for it" empire.
Indeed, it has been made quite clear that the Lunars, like all other societies in Glorantha have their own unique place in the world and that the concept of right and wrong are too simplistic to apply.

RPGnet : Review of Magic of Glorantha
Here was Glorantha during its glorious Second Age, an age of mighty empires and unprecedented human hubris, where mankind was turning its back on the ancient gods and spirits who forged the world in favor of potent new sorceries and exotic mysticisms.
The individual gods belonging to these pantheons are detailed in Cults of Glorantha, Volume I, but the goal of this chapter is to look at them as a whole, and the relationships between them and the empires of this Age.
In short, in Glorantha it is possible to depart the mundane plane and enter the world of myth (this is called “HeroQuesting” and is detailed in the following chapter).

Glorantha participates in this ancient tradition, albeit in a new form: a shared cosmos explored primarily through group roleplaying.
Glorantha provides a wonder-full playground where we can explore issues that are meaningful to us — sexuality, identity, power, gender, community — and where we can test, if we wish, the myths that propel our own lives: those unconscious and largely unquestioned myths of western culture that shape the way we view the world.
Glorantha is a mythic landscape, deriving its form and its meaning from your creative input.

Glorantha participates in the ancient tradition of other-worldly journeys, albeit in a new form: a shared cosmos explored primarily through group roleplaying.
Together, these twin visions constitute much of what Glorantha is about - and together they raise the broader issue of what roleplaying is, can be, and should be, and just how closely the world of Glorantha should be tied to roleplaying games such as RuneQuest.
Related to this 'literary' or 'genre' view is the the perspective of Glorantha as a myth.

Glorantha Third Age with d100 - BRP Central
The group aims at providing rules to play d100 in Glorantha third age, for those who still prefer d100 to HeroQuest (and there are many).

In any case I have invited Greg to the group (I do not think he'll join or be very active though, as the discussion is gonna be very rulesy, and not about HeroQuest at all), and will e-mail him later today to explain what the intents are.

 Warehouse 23: Glorantha
Glorantha is a gigantic cube awash in a limitless ocean, formed by the collision of four forces in primordial eras.
In Glorantha a hero makes his name in the mortal sphere; those destined to be great heroes travel the perilous paths of the mythical realm.
A hero making his own myth can ravel to the distant past to aid or oppose the gods in their battles; journey to the underworld and release the souls of the dead; or bend the wildest demons to his will and harness great magical power.
