Breast Cancer Care: Forum archive: Coffee Room : Gloria Hunniford's story in the Daily Mail
I just think Gloria Hunniford should stop talking publically about Caron's breast cancer unless she is willing to say something sensible such admitting that vast amounts of money were wasted on useless complimentary therapies.
Gloria describes a miraculous conversation Caron had with her husband during the journey in which she suddenly recovered enough to talk about her relationship with him and her children - I wonder whether Russ made this up to make Gloria feel better, it just sounded a very unlikely conversation given her state of health.
Gloria is celebrating Carons life by sharing it all with us, I'm sure it does give her a purpose at a time she needs one.

The Northern Irish celeb first caught the public's attention with her radio programme Taste Of Hunni in the early Seventies, and in the years since, her work on shows like This Morning, Sunday Sunday and We Love TV has established her as one of the nation's favourite personalities.
Her beloved daughter, Caron, died of cancer last year, and people all over Britain were left in shock after the 41-year-old, who like her mum was a top TV presenter, passed away.
It was with the same courage and generosity that made her so popular in the first place that Gloria bounced back from the loss by setting up a foundation to raise money for cancer research.

I do feel that Gloria was honest and as a result as this Caron was viewed as very human with good and bad points rather than made out to be saintly or whiter than white.
Bearing this in mind one part of the book really saddened me when Gloria refers to when Caron first was diagnosed and she was waiting at the hospital and couldn't bear to be among sick/ill people.
It must have been incredibly difficult for Gloria to tell this story, and from reading about Caron's early days she appeared to be rather spoilt then too.
