		The Glorieuses or Glorioso Islands (French: Îles Glorieuses or officially also Archipel des Glorieuses) are group of islands and rocks totalling 5 km², at 11°30′S 47°20′E, in the northern Mozambique channel, about 160 km northwest of Madagascar.
		From 1914 to 1958 concessions to exploit the islands were given to Seychelles companies.
		The islands are today nature reserves with a meteorological station garrisoned by French troops.

		Juan de Nova Island (French: locally Île Juan de Nova or officially Île Juan da Nova) is a 4.4 km² low, flat, tropical island in the narrowest part of the Mozambique Channel, about one-third of the way between Madagascar and Mozambique at 17°03′S 42°45′E.
		The island is named after João da Nova, a Galician admiral in the service of Portugal who came across the island in 1501.
		The island is garrisoned by French troops from Réunion and has a meteorological station.

		Caltaux stayed on the Glorioso islands until 1907 when at 60 years old he decided to retire and sended a letter to the Mayotte Governor to inform that he was ready to sell his property over the Glorioso islands.
		The exploitation on the Glorioso islands stopped during the world war II, and in may 1945 the islands were given again to the same compagny owned by Jules Sauzier living on seychelles islands.
