Some terms are from the general German cultural background, others are given to show a change that was made before or after the Nazi era.
In German, it is known as the Kehlstein Haus.
Y-Beam -- German aircraft navigational system which utilized a single station that radiated a directional beam plus a ranging signal which the bomber picked up and re-transmitted to enable the ground controllers to compute the range and know when to order the bombs to be dropped.

The German invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939 is the most common date in the West for the start of World War II.
In spring the German army made further attacks in the Soviet Union, but appeared to be unable to choose between a direct attack on Moscow and the capture of the Caucasian oilfields.
After the war, many high-ranking Germans were prosecuted for war crimes, as well as the mass murder of the Holocaust committed mainly on the area of General Government, in the Nuremberg trials.

 Glossary of German Military Terms and Abbreviations
During WWII used to name infantry formations with some recon abilities that replaced an infantry division's recon battalion mid-war when the Germans reduced the number of standard infantry battalions in their divisions from 9 to 6.
The term is in reference to a specific type of mission and not to a unit type although members of penal units were often sent on these types of missions.
Towards the end of WWII the concept was revived for smaller ad-hoc home-defense units to be pulled together for local defense because of the crumbling situation on the Eastern Front.

This task was left to the General Staff, so actually the most important man in the Army (and the Navy, but less so in the Luftwaffe, which was commanded by Hermann Göring) was the chief of the general staff (Chef des Generalstabs des Heeres, or Chef GenStdH for short).
As the Commander-In-Chief of the German Army inevitably held the rank of a Generalfeldmarschall, the vehicle flag for this rank usually was displayed in conjunction with the command flag on the same vehicle.
The flag was similar in certain aspects to the flag used by the Commander-In-Chief of the German Army.

That portion of Poland occupied by the Germans prior to the invasion of the USSR on June 22, 1941, that was not administratively annexed to the Third Reich.
A series of related decrees introduced in late 1941 that provided that in German occupied territories in the west, civilians would be tried for offenses against the German state only if it was likely that the verdict would be one of execution, and that this would be carried out a few days after their apprehension.
Persons of German origin settled in Poland and further east were to be settled in that part of Poland that was annexed to the Third Reich.
