Sunbury County was a county in the crown colony of Nova Scotia from 1765 to 1784.
Following Confederation, New Brunswick suffered the effects of an economic downturn precipitated by the Great Fire of 1877 in Saint John and the decline of the sailing shipbuilding industry, and compounded by the global recession sparked by the Panic of 1893.

In the county the population is spread out with 23.00% under the age of 18, 6.60% from 18 to 24, 30.60% from 25 to 44, 24.50% from 45 to 64, and 15.20% who are 65 years of age or older.

WILLIAM J. William J. Dawson, M.D., a leading physician of St. Helena, Napa County, was born in New Bandon, Gloucester County, New Brunswick, Dominion of Canada, on January 12, 1846.
In the spring of 1868 he was admitted, by competitive examination, one of the house staff of the Charity Hospital, New York, acting as assistant physician for six months, and then entering as one of the house physicians and surgeons in October, 1868, a position that he held for one year.
Dawson is an active member of both the State and County Medical Societies, being President of the latter, and Chairman in the former of the Committee on Medical and Surgical Diseases of Children for the years 1889-’90.

The announcement was made today by the Honourable Andy Scott, Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and Federal Interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians, on behalf of the Honourable Scott Brison, Minister of Public Works and Government Services.
The company will replace the last bay of the existing timber breakwater with a new timber cribwork construction.
