 | | Glounthaune is the native place for the Murphy clan, but since Bertie married Mollie O' Donovan, a well known Sars camogie player in 1942, they have made their home in Blossomgrove, that picturesque townland high over the harbour and approximately mid-ways between, Glounthaune, Knockraha, Brooklodge, Glanmire and Riverstown. |
 | | It used to be said that the Sarsfields, Glanmire territory stretched from Dunkettle in the south to Watergrasshill in the North, and from Glounthaune in the East to Dillons Cross in the West. |
 | | Graduating to Sars in 1927 with his brothers Tom and Jim he won East Cork Junior Titles in 1929,1930,1932,1933,1934 and 1937, in which latter year Sars won the County junior title, adding the county junior hurling and minor titles. |
