In supersymmetric theories, the main decay modes of scalar quarks are decays into quarks plus charginos or neutralinos, if the gluinos are heavy enough.
In the case of scalar top and bottom quarks, where mixing effects can be important, these corrections can reach values of the order of a few ten percent.
They can be either positive or negative and increase logarithmically wi th the gluino mass.

We consider a deformation of N = 1 supersymmetric gauge theories in four dimensions, which we call the C-deformation, where the gluino field satisfies a Clifford-like algebra dictated by a self-dual two-form, instead of the standard Grassmannian algebra.
The superpotential of the deformed gauge theory is computed by the full partition function of an associated matrix model (or more generally a bosonic gauge theory), including non-planar diagrams.

We discuss the implications of a light gluino (the supersymmetric partner of the gluon) on collider jet physics.
In the light gluino scenario, squarks, i.e., the superpartners of quarks, can be copiously produced in proton-antiproton collisions, in conjunction with a gluino.
The inclusive jet transverse energy distributions and scaling ratio appear to be a tantalizing piece of evidence for light gluinos and for squarks in the 100-130 GeV region.

Authors: Toharia, Manuel; Wells, James D. We compute gluino decay widths in supersymmetric theories with arbitrary flavor and CP violation angles.
Our emphasis is on theories with scalar superpartner masses heavier than the gluino such that tree-level two-body decays are not allowed, which is relevant, for example, in split supersymmetry.
We compute gluino decay branching fractions in several specific examples and show that it is plausible that the only accessible signal of supersymmetry at the LHC could be four top quarks plus missing energy.

The one-loop corrections to the lattice supersymmetric Ward-Takahashi identity (WTi) are investigated in the off-shell regime.
In the Wilson formulation of the $N=1$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills (SYM) theory, supersymmetry (SUSY) is broken by the lattice, by the Wilson term and is softly broken by the presence of the gluino mass.
This extra mixing survives in the continuum limit in the off-shell regime and cancels out when the on-shell condition is imposed and the renormalized gluino mass is set to zero.

Looking for events in which three jets of energetic particles stream out of the reaction zone, physicists at the CDF detector have performed the most authoritative search yet for SUSY particles.
Finding no positive evidence, the Fermilab scientists have established a new lower limit (195 GeV) on the mass of one prominent SUSY particle, the gluino.
The data base for this painstaking analysis was actually gathered several years ago; with the new, more intense Tevatron beam, five times as much data is expected within a year, and this will aid the search for these very rare events.

One explanation is that energetic neutrinos make the long cosmic journey and then annihilate relatively near the Earth with massive dark-matter neutrinos to create the cosmic ray primary particle.
Farrar herself is partial to the notion that the primary is the neutral S particle, an amalgam of three quarks and a gluino (one of the shadow particles associated with supersymmetry theory; see Updates 86 and 265).
With a mass two or three times that of the proton, the S would not as readily produce pions in interactions with microwave photons, thus ensuring for itself a more robust passage through the cosmos.

Somewhere along the line, surely this argument must surely fail for the vector supermultiplet.
I see it is only supposed to apply to chiral fields, although the gluino field-strength W^{alpha} counts as a chiral superfield.
So under delta lambda = ia lambda delta W_eff ~ 2N ia W_eff where lambda is the gluino field and "a" is a small real parameter, and W_eff is the effective potential.
