		Born Glynis Saunders in Toowoomba, Queensland, she began competing in athletics at age 9.
		In addition to her gold medal, Nunn also placed fifth in the 100 m hurdles event, and seventh in the long jump.

		Nunn quit her job as a physical education teacher a year before the Games, after finishing seventh in the world heptathlon championship in Helsinki.
