One thing that was both charming and pleasing about Vertical Horizon was that their music changed from album to album.
On Go, though, change the order and lyrics a little and a reproduction of their double-platinum Everything You Want is not far off.
Maybe it is that “Won’t Go away” and “Inside” sound almost like the same song; maybe it’s that the effect of the songs is not moving; or maybe it’s just that the songwriters seem like they can create something interesting and give hope on some songs, but then let the listener down with the rest.

Lyrically, the album sticks to simple relation-based lines that you could easily get from Matchbox 20 or Eve 6 (or some other poppy number band).

Vertical Horizon is a superior live band (as anyone having seen them or heard "Live Stages" can tell) and they should capitalize on their abilities.
That's not to say that their Go CD is bad, but it just doesn't quite measure up to Everything You (might) Want.
