Go Kart Records is an independent record label specializing in punk rock located in New York City.
The label is an outspoken critic of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), arguing that the association uses ineffective and heavyhanded business tactics and does not fulfil its claims to represent the music industry.
Go Kart artists (both past and present) include The Buzzcocks, Anti-flag, Lunachicks, Boris the Sprinkler, Conflict, Two Man Advantage, The Meatmen, Cougars, The Parasites, GuFF and I Farm.

I can’t understand what it is they’re singing about, this should be because they’re singing in Dutch and not because they’re so distorted, which just happens to be the case.
When Transmission0 really get going they don’t entirely disappoint; producing unsettling and queasy soundscapes, this is not music you listen to but music you let wash over you like an grotesque Metal tsunami.
Our continental brethren, far from the scene politics and ‘core trends of the US and UK often produce unexpected classics, this isn’t really one of those but it’s definitely something new even if it leaves you brow all a-furrowed and simply not knowing just quite what to make of it.

This is one of the records that seem to hint at a high-energy live show, which is to say the confines of a CD give one the impression that there is so much more and the sound recorded is, unfortunately, incomplete.
This is one of those records where it is difficult to point to any standout tracks—not because there aren’t any, but rather owing to the fact that the whole record is consistently at the same high level of quality.
Records like this show that flogging the supposedly dead horse of 77-style punk really can be worthwhile.

We feel that only by embracing technology can we gain from it, and that a battle like the one that the RIAA is fighting can simply not be won.
LOL, I saw the title and was like "WTF?!" I thought you meant "Go-Kart records" as in actual go-kart racing records vs the RIAA.
Here's another idea I heard a while ago, but I haven't heard anything about it since, someone was going to be putting special booths in shops where you could access a very large database of CD-quality music and compile your own albums for 50p a song or something, I would have been interested in that.

I wanted to post a quick note about this great label out of Brooklyn, Go-Kart Records that put their entire catalogue up on their site for free download.
The move was paired with an amazing open letter to the RIAA which you all should read.
It speaks well of the nonsensical suing of people for downloading music, and how off it is to go after the fans of music, as opposed to providing a legitimate system to meet the demand.

That was my initial reaction to seeing that one of the promos I received to review this time around came from the aforementioned record label.
Of course, virtually the entirety of my past experience with Go Kart comes from the Lunachicks, an all-girl punk band from New York who hold the distinction of being the first band I ever saw live (opening for the Offspring and the Vandals back in 1995).
Go Kart is also the current label for Ten Foot Pole (arguably my favorite punk band of all time, regardless of some disappointment with their last two albums), among many others.
