Traditionally, a glossary appears at the end a book and includes terms within that book which are either newly introduced or at least uncommon.
A core glossary is a simple glossary or defining dictionary which enables definition of other concepts, especially for newcomers to a language or field of study.
In computer science, a core glossary is a pre-requisite to a core ontology.

 USGS Water Science Glossary of Terms
A detailed water glossary is kept by the Water Quality Association, and an extremely detailed water dictionary is offered by the Nevada Division of Water Planning).
This process differs from electrodialysis, where the salts are extracted from the feedwater by using a membrane with an electrical current to separate the ions.
The positive ions go through one membrane, while the negative ions flow through a different membrane, leaving the end product of freshwater.
