The Dove River has ground a deep gorge, and the trail later follows this river through the gorge, starting at river level and climbing steadily to the top where the views are stupendous.
The park’s trails tend to be busy but most people are hanging out near the park entrance or go as far as the first beach off the trail.

 about
At the end of 1962, when the Noosa Parks Association was formed, the only area set aside to protect the diverse landscapes and ecosystems of Noosa and Cooloola was the pocket-handkerchief-sized Noosa National Park.
This is a phenomenal achievement and says much for the tenacity of the members of the Noosa Parks Association who were faced with one problem after another as they pursued their conservation objectives.
The sustained activity of the Noosa Parks Association was able to keep it at that level, and eventually it led to the formation of the Cooloola and Lake Weyba National Parks.

 CAPAD97 - Queensland (QLD) Listings
The Marine Park sizes were calculated from the Collaborative Australian Protected Areas Dataset (CAPAD) from data supplied by the QDoE.
Further analysis with the CAPAD data is required to subtract the island areas from the Marine Park, therefore the areas presented above should be considered as indicative only.
Note also that many of the Marine Parks overlap with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, and therefore their area should not be double counted when calculating the total marine protected areas of Queensland.

The historically colourful town of Tanunda is at the centre of South Australia’s prime wine producing district, theBarossa Valley.
A sizeable town of more than 3500, Tanunda has grown out of the village of Langmeil which was established in 1843 on the banks of the North Para River by the first wave of Germans to settle in the Barossa, most of whom were Silesian and Prussian refugees fleeing religious persecution.
The character of the village is preserved in its magnificent old Lutheran churches: Tabor, with an interesting orb atop its spire, Langmeil, approached down a stately avenue of cypress trees, and St John's with its life-size statues of Peter, Paul, Moses, Jeremiah and Christ.
