It was released in the US on September 11, 2001, after much delay.
Kerry King has stated that the title "God Hates Us All" is a reference to having a bad day, one where you feel like God hates you.This is also the first album on which the band have used seven string guitars, on the track "Warzone".

Needless to say I have gained a newfound appreciation for Slayer, with their brutal, unrelenting assault on the senses Slayer are a strong contender for the heaviest band on earth.
God Hates Us All finds Slayer unapologetically preying on your delicate sensibilities while you frantically try to find a place to hide.
I personally think that their last record was a crowning achievement but God Hates Us All could easily be any hardcore headbanger's best friend.

'God Hates Us All' is the follow up to Slayer's last album 'Diabolus In Musica' which was released in 1998.
On 'God Hates Us All' is a very different Slayer to that of 20 years ago and a 'Reign in Blood' or 'Seasons in the Abyss' it is not - musically those albums were mind-blowing and showed great musicianship.
Thank God...although he hates us all, but obviously loves Slayer.

The first two tracks especially still have enough classic SLAYER feel in them to please those of us who dreaded the day the band would blow it like the way they have on the majority of this album.
With God Hates Us All we get a disc that cries out to Nu-Metallers wallowing in their KORN and SLIPKNOT vortexes and asks for SLAYER's entry into their collections.
God may indeed hate us all but he surely has a special hatred for SLAYER after this album.

"God Hates us All" is possibly the angriest Slayer album ever.
"God Send Death" boasts some of the coolest guitar duets in years, "Cast Down" and "Bloodline" have eminently memorable riffs, "War Zone" is full of rabid energy, and "Seven Faces" starts off deceivingly slow and then results in the usual Total Slayer Mayhem.

Some of their previous albums such as Reign in Blood and South of Heaven are classics in the genre, God Hates Us All approaches the magnificence of those albums and certainly surpasses them in intensity if not originality.
While GHUA is not as groundbreaking or genre defining as Slayers classic works, it is a great brutal album and the strongest offering from Slayer since South of Heaven.
That these guys are in their forties and are playing some of the most brutal and truly menacing metal to be found these days is just amazing.

They have yet to equal that classic, but "God Hates Us All" gives it a good run for its money.
Such was his exertion that he has chronically and permanently disabled his elbow, forcing his departure.
You hate to say this has a nu-metal sound, but I could see a lot of nu-metal fans getting into this track, which features inspiring lyrics like "I keep my bible in a pool of blood so none of its lies can affect me".

Another vintage King lyric (among dozens) is 'I'm waiting for the day this world fucking dies', while 'I hate everyone equally, you can't tear that out of me' also raises a smile.
Amidst the barrage of lyrical hate are the classic Hanneman/King riffs, with Bostaph knocking the crap out of his kit.
I seriously wonder who King's hate is directed to here.

I kept getting emails from "slayer.net" saying, "Remember, on September 11th, "God Hates Us All."" (Yes, it really did come out on that day.) I woke up that morning, and sped like a sweating junky for the mall at 8 AM.

Not in along time have I heard a song that was so angry and hate fuelled with Kerry King penning some of his most savage lyrics to date.
This album is vicious, it's more dark and sinister than the previous 3 albums and will have listeners screaming and begging for mercy as it rips them limb from limb, before finally burrowing deep inside and exploding, splattering speakers everywhere with blood and gore!!
Highlights on 'God…' have to be the brilliant 'Exile', 'God Send Death', 'New Faith', 'Bloodline' and my personal favourite 'Payback'.

The fade out of Tom screaming "God Hates Us All" is the perfect war cry for hungry Slayer fans in a live setting as the album really kicks into overdrive with "Disciple".
If you caught Slayer this summer on the Extreme Steel Tour, you heard this tune as they opened their set with it on most nights.
Lyrically and spiritually, this is Slayer's finest hour, as the members of the band certainly dug deep within themselves and brought out their darkest thoughts on songs like "Exile" and "God Send Death".
