  Live-Metal.Net - Interviews: Godhead
We sort of transitioned into being called Godhead at a certain point because we got this deal with this European label, but there was already another band in Europe called Blind or something, so we had to change our name.
I thought that was a good analogy for what this band has gone through, but that we still have stayed together as a unit and now have come out to live another day.
Godhead is what it is. But I think we might have looked a little too over the top, looking back at it.

 NIPP: Artists: Godhead
Formed in Washington, D.C. in the early 90’s, Godhead was signed to Marlboro Music and had two successful European releases in 1994 and in 1995 followed by their first US release Nothingness in 1996 and Power Tool Stigmata in 1998.
“Godhead has survived through many trends and fads but I think one thing has always been a constant with us is solid songwriting, if you don’t have that base of solid songs, the rest doesn’t matter and there’s no where to go,” adds Miller.
Constantly evolving as a band, Godhead has always released high quality material and Evolver is the culmination of years of working and growing together.

Godhead - Satan Stole My Teddybear
While the band may wish otherwise, this is a group of lads whom you'd feel safe in allowing them to crash on the floor of your mom's house.
Godhead plays a style that is reminiscient of early Nine Inch Nails with a healthy dose of guitar overdrive amidst non-threatening programming and synthesizers that hint slightly at early Skinny Puppy's danceability factor.
Godhead is presumably Marilyn Manson’s new pet project, as this promotional single states that they are on tour with him and he sings on one of the tracks with them.

 Dragon*Con Biography: [Godhead]
Godhead is a powerful, industrial-strength rock band that has impressed audiences worldwide with their dedication, musicianship, and devotion to their growing fan base.
The band still has Jason on vocals and rhythm guitar, Mike Miller on lead guitar and The Method handling the programming and bass-guitar, but longtime drummer James O'Connor's last show with the band was at Dragon*Con in 2001.
Godhead, who already regard Dragon*Con as one of their favorite recurring events, emigrated west to L.A. from the Baltimore area a few years ago, and consequently they haven't been quite as common a sight on club marquees in this part of the world lately.

Rolling Stone : Godhead Talk "Human Error"
But with their Posthuman debut, 2000 Years of Human Error, Godhead prove that they're up to the task of keeping just far enough ahead of society's morality line to look back at it and pose the sort of questions says need to be asked.
At the heart of the album -- Godhead's fourth -- is the notion that society has made the same mistakes over and over again for the last 2000 years, from the follies of organized religion to the shameless way in which life itself is marketed to the general populace in modern times.
Now, the challenge before Godhead is to not only infiltrate the mainstream in the wake of Manson, but to open up just as many doors for their audience on their own.

gODHEAD recorded their major label debut (their fourth album overall) ‘2000 Years of Human Error’, and over the course of the next year, the band found itself sharing concert billing with the likes of Manson, Static-X and Rammstein even as its own reworking of the Beatles classic “Eleanor Rigby” made waves on radio and MTV.
For ‘Evolver’, the band peeled back a few layers of keyboard samples to expose the muscular, guitar-laden sound of their live shows.

The circle is always inscribed from the inside, ideally from the center, in a sunwise direction, and visualized as a glowing or flaming band of light that sustains itself in the air at the level of the heart.
Often a corresponding physical circle of the same radius is marked on the floor of the chamber beforehand; but the magic circle does not actually exist until it is made in the astral by a deliberate act of will.
The term is a Hebrew word meaning "Kingdom." It represents the archetype of the number 10, the manifested aspect of the Godhead.

Seeing perhaps their greatest commercial success with that aforementioned opus however, the band have now returned with a new label and an ultimately more streamlined sound on "Evolver", their latest slab of pulsing electro-goth oriented rock.
While traditional industrial influences were a large component of the bands musical arsenal on their previous releases, they now seem to have been phased out a bit in favor of more friendly electronica meets radio rock like progressions.
Compounding this is a broader usage of melodies present which the band readily take full advantage of, riding out catchy choruses and gloomy hooks with an almost anthem reminiscent fervor.

Metal Reviews - Review of Godhead - The Shadow Line
Longtime riders of the wave of the industrial revolution of the early 90s, Godhead has outlasted many of their more commercially successful peers without managing a similar breakthrough of their own while the stylistic iron was still hot.
As such, it fares reasonably well–the band has a strong sense of hook and The Shadow Line is a competent, professional effort thats most significant shortcoming is an overwhelming absence of fire.
There are moments when the band meanders toward more interesting (or at least heavier) material (most notably on “Hey You"), but these seem like the last vestiges of a band that has almost completely evolved into something else.
