Magick - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Magick is an alternate spelling of magic, coined by Aleister Crowley to differentiate "the true science of the Magi from all its counterfeits".
Magick is not capable of producing miracles or violating the physical laws of the universe (i.e., it cannot cause a solar eclipse), although "it is theoretically possible to cause in any object any change of which that object is capable by nature", according to Crowley.
Despite these distinctions, specifically the assertion that magick cannot violate the laws of the universe, people often expect practitioners of magick (e.g., witches) to be able to, literally speaking, pull rabbits out of hats as they see illusionists do.

"Goetia [refers to] all the operations of that Magick which deals with gross, malignant or unenlightened forces." The purpose of this section is to stimulate, through metaphor and analogy, an understanding of Goetic operations and the concept of Evil.

In our New Aeon of Magick there is a great deal of interest in the art of Goetic evocation.
But as is the case with many occult subjects, the proliferation of information on Goetic evocation has spawned some confusing, misleading, and sometimes even erroneous instructions on how such an operation is properly and effectively performed.
Furthermore, the traditional methods of evocation described in the Lesser Key of Solomon are of little practical use to the modern magician, who cares neither for their unnecessary complexity nor for their archaic biases and symbolism.
