Britannia Celtic Gods: Gofannon, God of Metalworking
Gofannon, the ‘Divine-Smith,’ was the son of Belenos, the Sun-God, and Anu, his wife.
Weapons made by Gofannon himself were guaranteed to always fly true and inflict a fatal wound on their target.
Gofannon was also host of the Underworld feast for which he provided a special ale to make the drinkers immortal.

Lady Aranrhod and her warriors had all manner of magical weapons from the Gofannon workshops, not to mention the use of Pwyll's Cauldron of life left to him by the Tuatha de Danu.
Incensed by their inability to defeat the wondrous weapons of the Gofannon the Seelie Knight Creidylad, a daughter of Lludd, led an army into the Mountain fast of Snowdonia to destroy the Unseelie workshops.
When their land was threatened, the Gofannon Elen magically built highways (exclusive Trods) across the country so that the Commoner soldiery could gather and defend it, giving them an edge and allowing the freehold of Tormentill to remain free.

 Gofannon
Gofannon fab Dôn is known from both the Mabinogi of Math fab Mathonwy and the tale of Culhwch ac Olwen.
Gofannon is part of the triad of elder gods, all the primary sons of Dôn who are Amaethon (Great Farmer), Gwydion (Great of Knowledge) and Gofannon whose name literally means 'Great Smith'.
Thus we have Gofannon for the insular Brythonic Celts, Goibniu for the Goidelic Celts, and Gobanos (who is known from an inscription found at Berne, Switzerland) for the continental Brythonic Celts.

As we struggled to glimpse a view of what was happening from the council window, we saw Lothar returned - with Gofannon and two dozen of his stone servants.
Gofannon managed to injure a horse while inspecting it - he pulled it down by the reigns when it reared up and the strength of the act managed to lame it.
It seems that the "stone of the mountain" was Gofannon himself - but then I don't pretend to have any understanding of the fae.

 Dylan
Dylan's tale in the Mabinogi ends with the rather cryptic statement that "And the blow whereby he came to his death, was struck by his uncle Gofannon.
The third fatal blow was it called." This seems to allude to a lost tale where Gofannon, the smith god, kills his own nephew, Dylan possibly using his magical spear.
It may have been that Dylan was in fish form and Gofannon was simply fishing; however this can never be known.

Myth and legend say that Gofannon were once descendants of Conalls but were horribly kept in small places till they grew smaller in size because of this.
Yet, fire magic is something that a Gofannon never takes up because of the species' intense fear of fire and heat.

 Who's Who in Welsh Stories
One of the Children of Don, sister of Gwydion and Gofannon; her name means 'silver wheel', referring to the moon.
The Children of Don were the Welsh equivalent of the Irish Tuatha de Danaan, the family of the goddess Danu, who included most of the Irish gods; their Welsh equivalents, certainly a divine family in origin, appear as superhuman characters in the Welsh stories and Triads.
Some of her children appear in the story Math Son of Mathonwy from the Mabinogion, where she appears to be the sister of Math; those named are Gwydion, Gilfaethwy, Arianrhod, Gofannon and from other sources Amaethon.

 Goibniu
Goibniu was the smith of the Tuatha Dé Danann, and interestingly enough, we are never told of his parentage.
However, if we take into consideration his Welsh counterpart of Gofannon, we might assume that he is the son of the hypothetical Danu, or perhapse a brother of the Dagda and Dian Cecht.
Ruadan son of Bres and Brighidh was sent to kill Goibniu during the second battle of Magh Turedh.

Pwyll knew then that it would be Gofannon the King-Smith that he was; that Son of Don, on whose anvils on the Headland of Gannion swords are forged for the Immortals, for their warfare with the demon races.
The sight of them kindled in Pwyll's mind, and caused such ardor and loftiness of soul to flame up in him, that it seemed to him that he would have attained suddenly the stature of the well-grown poplar, the firmness of the mountains.
At last it was forged, this new sword also; and flamed forth upon wings as the first had done, and Gofannon caught it by the hilt as it flew.

He is also to be identified with the Roman Vulcan and Greek Hephaestus who made magical weapons for the Muses to give to Perseus, and for Thetis to give to Achilles.

Mailcoat of Gofannon - as per the rules, except the Mailcoat may not absorb Balor's auto-hit, nor may it absorb damage from Duel Arcane-type combat.
