Young and Crother (2001) therefore elevated the Mississippi population to specific status by resurrecting Rana sevosa Goin and Netting (1940; dusky gopher frog), because this population is the only one remaining in the historical geographic range of Rana sevosa (Louisiana to Mobile County, Alabama) as described by Goin and Netting (1940).
Dusky gopher frogs (Rana sevosa) are endemic to the coastal plain of Louisiana (Saint Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington parishes), Mississippi (Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, and Pearl River counties), and southwestern Alabama (Mobile County; Goin and Netting, 1940; Netting and Goin, 1942a; Altig and Lohoefener, 1983; Dundee and Rossman, 1989).
Goin and Netting (1940) reported body size for males of 62—84 mm (mean = 73.6 mm; n = 21) and for females of 73—92.5 mm (mean = 82.3 mm; n = 29).

Turtle, Tuatara, Crocodile Checklist--Foreword   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-13)
He was a turtle taxonomist and a conservationist who agonized over the decline of marine turtles and crocodilians and who strived to limit international trade in endangered species.
The dedication is particularly appropriate because the checklist will contribute to studies on crocodilian and turtle taxonomy, and it will assist wildlife inspectors and customs officials in limiting the impact of wildlife trade on wild populations.
This paper concludes with the taxonomy for sea turtles used by most authors today but the proposed set of relationships (Eretmochelys as the sister taxon to carettines rather than Chelonia) remains novel.

For example, if the page is set in the taxonomy as "foo" then I'd like the Glossary to only pull terms whose parent is "foo" as well, right now it gets the ENTIRE taxonomy.
Once I had the node ID I could get the taxonomy ID for the page, once I had the taxonomy ID for the page I just altered the get_terms query to look for only terms whose parent matched the taxonomy ID of the page.
It actually works quite well just as long as the taxonomy is set up correctly and the pages are all linked to the correct taxonomy as well.

 Diapsida
Diapsids are by far the most speciose group of amniotes, with about 14 600 extant species (Goin et al., 1978).
Despite numerous studies on diapsid phylogeny and classification, diapsids taxonomy still suffers from a lack of consensus.
However, according to the principles of priority suggested by de Queiroz and Gauthier (1990, 1992, 1994), several diapsid taxa have been formally defined phylogenetically, and these definitions should be respected if diapsid taxonomy is ever to be standardized.

Those subspecies that are readily distinguishable in the field are given full seperate entries and individual range maps, which is particularly nice with certain large species groups (milk and king snakes, Pitouphis, etc.)
My only complaint, and it is minor, is that the taxonomy is old and very conservitive, even given when this book was published.
Pitouphis is treated as monospecific genus in the book, whereas it's currently regarded as having several species, and Elaphe is still used for a good many of the colubrids that have since been reassigned.
