 ALLEGRO MUSIC - Children's Music
This is the second musical album from the popular children's television show about Thomas, the world's most famous tank engine, a musical tour that features favorite songs about Thomas, James, Percy and all the well-loved characters that make up the Thomas the Tank Engine crew.
There are thousands upon thousands of children's albums out there, but the one that quietly left its mark with more '70s children than perhaps any other album was this disc.
Their holiday CD was just nominated for a Grammy for Best Musical Album for Children.

Erin Abbott: Hair. Not the Musical. My Own.
There isn't really a need to have my hair off my face 'cause I sit at a desk all day and it isn't like it's going to get caught in stuff.
I get paid on Monday and I fully plan on taking some time after work (hopefully next week) and going to Regis or somewhere and getting a bunch of it lopped off.
I mean, I like having long hair and having the option to do stuff with it, but mainly it's getting long because I just can't afford to have it cut yet.

As long as there are groups like Traffic around with their eyes always on new horizons, I don't think there is any danger of music reaching a dead end.

When I was younger, I loved sitting down, listening to a song, and reading the lyrics and just thinking, "Man, that's exactly what I'm going through." For the guy that wrote it, it may be the complete opposite of what he's talking about, but it's great.
I'm going to buy the album!" Like I said, it covers such a huge audience now that it's one of those things that just happened to get our music out there, and it's something that we're totally in favor of.
While it is servicing free music, I think it may be something that perhaps the record industry could not fight as much.

Musical chairs - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Musical chairs is a game played by a group of people (usually children), often in an informal setting purely for entertainment such as a birthday party.
"Musical chairs" is or was formerly also known as "Going to Jerusalem." Laura Lee Hope describes it under that name in chapter XIII of The Bobbsey Twins at School, as does John P. Marquand in chapter XXXI of Wickford Point.
The game starts with any number of players and a number of chairs one fewer than the number of players; the chairs are arranged in a circle (or other closed figure if space is constrained; a double line is sometimes used) facing outward, with the people standing in a circle just outside of that.

Going Somewhere Soon is an engaging, emotionally provoking piece that is presented with the original honesty of one soul reaching out to others.
Sonically, "Going Somewhere Soon" is fairly similar to "Still," although a generous dose of percussion joins the mix along with some nice electric guitar, piano, and perhaps a flute(?).

 Eileen O'Brien
Eileen's musical pedigree is second to none, music came to her not just from her father, Dinny O'Brien was her grandfather, and Sean Ryan the fiddler was her uncle.
Triplets and rolls are introduced with great taste and while there is always something going on, the music never sounds fussy or overplayed.
Eileen's own skills as a composer are evident in the slow air Tribute to Jimmy McHugh, Jennifer's Waltz, written for her daughter, and the reel The Bounty Hunter which fits well alongside the other dance tunes on the CD.

 Wicked
If that sounds a little heavy going for a musical that clearly will attract children as well as adults, it is, at times.
In the sumptuous and ambitious new $14 million musical "Wicked," based on Maguire's novel, there is only a respectful, but amusing, nod to Baum's heroine Dorothy, the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion.
Not having read the novel, I can't attest to whether the musical copies the same satirical thrust of the novel, but I would wager that the campy tone that buoys the text when it gets a bit too moralizing is probably unique to the musical.

I thought with this, and the previous year's released of 'Moulin Rouge,' musicals were on their way to a cinematic revival.
Some of the problems with trying to get it to the big screen before had to do with how they were going to turn a play into a movie.

Musicals, the sort where characters break regularly into song and dance, fell out of favor in film in the 1970's as a reaction against anything that didn't seem "realistic."
