 | | By the end of the first story arc, Gokudo has been surrounded by beautiful women, turned into one himself, found and lost a fortune, rescued the innkeeper's daughter, lost her to a rival suitor, overthrown a king, been named king himself, abdicated, found his lost family, gave them up, and gave up on them. |
 | | By the third episode, Gokudo is surrounded by a large cast of characters, not all of whom are assets to the show. |
 | | Taking Djinn's place as Gokudo's travel partner is the obnoxiously off-putting Rubette, she of the "everyday is a bad hair day." She's mysteriously absent from the show by the fifth episode, so one can hold out hope that Gokudo will find another adventure buddy, though her presence in the opening credits suggests otherwise. |
