Golden Yeggs - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Golden Yeggs is a 1950 short animated film in the Merrie Melodies series produced by Warner Bros. Cartoons, Inc. and directed by Friz Freleng.
It features Daffy Duck and Porky Pig in a forerunner of the Rocky and Mugsy cartoons, with Rocky already in his present-day form.
When Daffy takes credit for the golden egg Porky finds in his henhouse, Rocky and his gang hustle him back to their den and demand more output.

DVD Breakdown | Looney Tunes Golden Collection
As soon as the four-disc 'Golden Collection' had been announced, the grumbling among fans began: the set contained 'only' 56 cartoons; there was an over-emphasis on director Chuck Jones; the Road Runner and Pepe le Pew were under-represented; personal favorites had not been included; etc. etc.
I sure don't envy the poor people whose job it was to compile this set, forced to meet both the demands of the fans that enough of the true classics were included, and the studio's understandable desire to hold back enough good material to allow for a longer series of releases.
For Region 2, the four discs from the 'Golden Collection' set have been released individually, with all but a few extras intact from the American box set: the documentaries 'The Boys from Termite Terrace' and 'The Golden Age of Looney Tunes' have for some reason been omitted from the European discs.

slant // magazine.com: DVD Review - Looney Tunes: Golden Collection
There's a gimmick to this four-disc Golden Age set that you need to know about from the start: bitchy Bugs Bunny gets the first disc, the perpetually-hemorrhaging Daffy Duck and naïve Porky Pig the second (poor Daffy, always number two), and the rest of the Looney Tunes "all stars" share the last two discs.
For those who can't afford this invaluable Golden Collection set, Warner Home Video makes 28 out of the 56 shorts collected here available on a separate, two-disc set (sans supplemental material), the Premiere Collection.
DISC TWO: part two of "Camera Three: The Boys from Termite Terrace"; commentaries for five out of the 14 shorts; music-only programs for four of the shorts; "Behind the Scenes" featurettes on Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and a third one that focuses on their special relationship to each other; and a stills gallery.

Poultry farmer Porky Pig discovers a golden egg in his chicken coop, and when he asks which of his fowl laid it, the goose responsible blames it on Daffy Duck!
Of course, the only one who seems to notice the absurdity of a male duck laying a golden goose egg is Daffy himself.
Daffy, knowing full well that he can't lay golden eggs, decides to stall as long as possible, explaining that he has to be made comfortable and be in the mood.

THE CINEMA LASER DVD REVIEW-- THE LOONEY TUNES GOLDEN COLLECTION
As much as I enjoyed the Laserdisc release of the classic Warner Bros. animated shorts, the new transfers used to master this first DVD set, marks a significant visual improvement that will allow one to enjoy these films even more than they have in the past.
When I was a child, I loved the slapstick nature of the Warner Bros. cartoons; however, when I became an adult, I came to appreciate the sophistication of the humor and the beauty that the animators brought to the characters and situations of these delightful animated shorts.
Irreverent Imagination: The Golden Age of Looney Tunes is a new hour-long program that features recent interviews with surviving members of the animation department, which looks back on the creative genius and joy that were the Warner Bros. cartoons.

All of these shorts are in their full uncut form, but all this really means is that the TV stations would have removed extraneous scenes to shorten the running time from 7 minutes down to about 4 or 5.
The US rating moniker of NR (Not Rated) for this Golden Collection 4-disc DVD set is an indication that some discretion should be adhered to by the parents, since this isn't your typical Disney-style collection of kiddies-only animated fare.
The Looney Tunes: Golden Collection may not appeal to everyone's initial expectations of this set, but there's no arguing that it is a well-rounded summation of the appeal that this unique form of entertainment provided for us.

Broken Leghorn (C) Devil May Hare (C) The Premiere Collection is actually a subset of The Golden Collection, and it has 28 of the 56 shorts and lacks all of the bonus material.
As you can see from the extensive list in the sidebar, the material is spread across each of the four discs, and each disc features at least a still gallery, a documentary (or part of one), and a few “Behind-the-Tunes” featurettes, which include interviews with many contemporary animators and animation historians.
None of these toons really captured my interest, as they just did not seem to have the same wit as the classics, and some were not all that funny, period.

'Golden Yeggs' where a goose that lays a golden egg tricks everyone into thinking that daffy laid it.
The collection even includes Daffy's only encounters with Henry Hawk in You Were Never Duckier, and Rocky, one half of the duo Rocky and Mugsy, in Golden Yeggs.
Although Daffy Duck maybe the complete opposite of any other cartoon fowl, his style and zaniness with every flap of the wing still continues to stand at least one more chuckle in the beak.

LaserDisc owners, like myself, of the mega-box set Golden Age Of Looney Tunes collections rest assured — these toons would only fill half of one of those tomes, so there is still a huge amount that LD owners can call “exclusive”.
Irreverent Imagination: The Golden Age Of Looney Tunes does a fine job of covering the history and philosophy behind Looney Tunes animation without overlapping too much on what has been touched on in the extensive supplements provided on the other discs.
I have to say that the Wartime cartoon set in the Disney Treasures line is what I was most excited about owning this year, mainly due to the simple nature of the amazing material that is included in that release.
