Substrate in the rearing containers should be completely replaced immediately if it starts to become infested with scavenger mites, or if it develops a slight odor (usually after a few weeks, but variable depending upon the age of the larvae and their feeding activity).
When a larva discontinues feeding and shows obvious signs of wanting to leave its rearing container, it should be transferred as soon as possible to a container that is large enough for it to have adequate space in which to construct its pupal cell.
Use a mixture of Goliathus larvae, composed of a mixture of 60% fine sand and 40% peat.

He is missing his index finger which he says was bitten off by the beast when he was a young man. He was climbing a tree looking for wild bird eggs when as he put his hand up to the next branch he felt tremendous pain.
No one saw them attack the child but his body was found in the jungle and littered about him were the remains of several of the creatures as if some fierce battle had taken place.
It then occurred to me that the reason Goliathus Hercules has not been captured is that not only are they allusive but they are self destructive.
