| | News - Obese Women Need Higher Doses of Gonadotropin during Assisted Pregnancy: Presented at ASRM |
 | | MONTREAL, QC -- October 19, 2005 -- Obese women might require higher doses of gonadotropin during assisted pregnancy, possibly due to a larger volume of distribution, according to study results presented here at the annual meeting of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). |
 | | The study also found that ovulatory obese women are no less likely to become pregnant during assisted pregnancy than women who are not obese, said lead investigator William Dodson, MD, Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Penn State University, Hershey, Pennsylvania, United States. |
 | | His study contrasts with other studies in that it looked only at women with evidence of ovulation, whereas most other studies have not distinguished between ovulatory and anovulatory women, he said. |
