  GONGJU NATIONAL MUSEUM
The outdoor exhibition of the Gongju National Museum is located in front of the main building.
To the left side from the main building are two stone basins excavated in Gongju City and designated as treasures, and on the right side are the Standing Buddha and stone pagodas from Gongju, Hongseong etc.
The Buddhist statue is assumed to have been made around the 8th century in the United Silla period, considering the entire proportion, the patterns, and the lotus stand.

Gongju (공주시, 公州市; public.province.city) is a city in Chungcheongnam-do.
Though Gongju has a population of over 100,000, it can only be reached by trains such as the Mugunghwa and buses, and thus does not really feel like a city so much as a town.
To the east of Gongju is the city of Daejeon and the county of Yeongi in Chungcheongnam-do, to the west are the counties of Yesan and Cheongyang, to the south is the city of Nonsan and the county of Buyeo, and to the north are the cities of Asan and Cheonan.

Gongju (Gongju-si) is a city in South Chungcheong Province, South Korea.
Gongju was formerly named Ungjin (웅진; 熊津;) and was the capital of Baekje from AD 475 to 538, during a period when Baekje was under threat from Goguryeo.
On August 11, 2004, the South Korean Prime Minister Lee Hae-chan announced that the country's capital will be moved from Seoul to Gongju and Yeongi commencing in 2007.

The provincial capital was located at Gongju, which had been the capital of the kingdom of Baekje from 475 to 538.
In 1895, the province was replaced by the Districts of Chungju (Chungju-bu; 충주부; 忠州府) in the east, Gongju (Gongju-bu; 공주부; 公州府) in the centre, and Hongju (Hongju-bu; 홍주부; 洪州府; modern-day Hongseong County) in the west.
In 1896, Chungju and eastern Gongju Districts were reorganized into North Chungcheong Province, and Hongju and western Gongju Districts were reorganized into South Chungcheong Province.

Later the association became the association for Gongju relic protection in 1938, the Gongju branch of the national museum in Korea, and finally it is promoted to become the Gongju national museum in 1975.
