		Goodies is the debut album by American RandB singer Ciara, released in the United States on September 28, 2004 (see 2004 in music) on La Face Records.
		The album was primarily produced by Jazze Pha, with additional production from Lil' Jon and R.
		It has been said by Ciara during a television appearance there is a secret message within the Goodies album.

		Goodies is tasty, but mainly because of the help Ciara has around her.
		The album is an unabashedly production-driven effort; whether it's R. Kelly dropping one of his slinky, melodic backdrops on "Next To You," or mentor Jazze Pha lacing her with his signature ATL funk on tracks like "Lookin' At You," the disc is packed with a delicious mix of slow jams and rump shakers.
		With a more than capable supporting cast, all Ciara needs to do to make the album a success is play her role; and she does this well, rarely stretching her vocals but making the tracks enjoyable by staying on-key and contributing just the amount of sexiness she needs.

		Thanks to a few productions by hitmakers Lil Jon and Jazze Pha, there are indeed some Goodies to be found on Ciara's debut album, even if the young dance-pop singer does little to distinguish herself from the legion of fellow young dance-pop singers filling the urban American airwaves.
		However, when she turns to run-of-the-mill ballads on the album's second half, she seems just as faceless as the songs themselves, lacking panache and, at times, personality.
		Definetly my favorite r'n'b album, mostly for the fact that is a mix of r'n'b and crunk, which makes it pretty unique and easy to listen to.

		The album is filled with potential hit singles, but one of my favorites is the song, "Pick Up The Phone," another song with a crazy beat.
		There is not a single song on this album which is awful apart from number 6.Pick Up The Phone which has a drag-on beat and is only listenable at times.

		To tell you the truth though, when I first heard "Goodies" on the radio, I thought it had a nice groove to it and the hook is somewhat catchy, but it didn't come across to me as the best song on the radio right now.
		I was a little disappointed in this album because of the way that people spoke about her and I thought Goodies would've been a much better album than it is. Ciara has potential though having accomplished a single being on the top of the charts for over 4 weeks and being nominated for 4 Grammys.
		So I'll just say, if you feel like the single "Goodies" or "One, Two Step" was a song that really touched you and made you like her as a musician, purchase Goodies by Ciara because it wouldn't be a bad investment just to see where her head is at.

	Goodies - Ciara - Review - Déjà-vous - Have I heard it before?
		There are 14 tracks on the album (2 bonus tracks) each with very similar styles and although this was supposed to be a new genre of music, I was disappointed to discover I had heard most of it before.
		While the album holds original material, I couldn't fail to recognise the similarities in her vocals, songs and style to artists such as Aaliyah and K-Ci and JoJo.
		The album is written about a woman for women - I have asked a few guys what they have thought and although they like her (looks of course!); most of the tracks on the album seemed too girly for them.

		From the seductive picture of the girl tipped to become the new queen of hip-hop, or specifically 'rhythm and crunk' it's obvious that Goodies is going to be one of those sexy albums - the type that has booties shakin' and serving to fuel plenty of grinding.
		Goodies kicks off with the title track and what is now an instantly recognisable tune.
		That's not necessarily a bad thing, but as with the rest of the tail end of Goodies it highlights a desperate need for an individual identity.
