The University of York is a campus-based university in York, northern England.
At the time the university consisted of three buildings; principally: King's Manor[?] (former residence of Thomas Wentworth, and one-time headquarters of the Council of the North), and Heslington Hall[?] (former residence of Thomas Eynns[?], Secretary and Keeper of the Seal to the Council of the North).
The university's music department is home to one of the earliest electronic music studios to have been built in the United Kingdom.

Goodricke Nucleus is the name of the main administrative and facility building in Goodricke College.

York was planned and built as a Collegiate University, but with all colleges close together on the main campus.
Alcuin and College 4 were next to be planned, although College 4 was not built, possibly due to the poor ground conditions of the land where it was to go (next to the library).
The new college is to be built in the area behing Goodricke Provost's lodge and facing Wentworth College across the lake.

Vanbrugh College is home to the History and History of Art departments as well as 166 undergraduates and 18 graduate students.

Was the worst bar on campus before its refit and still is, as the poorer students from goodricke college flock here in their scruffy clothes to smoke and generally look untidy.
Next time I went in it was not so bad, as my hallucination had died down a bit.
Good for campus, distinctly average compared to other bars in York, but I had some good nights here all in all, including the end of a pub crawl which saw us hitting seven bars in one hour.

I used to be a student at the University of York (1997-2001), so I've included the campus bars although I'm not sure if they're strictly public bars.
There are Eight colleges at the University of York (the latest addition being Halifax College in 2001), seven of which have their own bars (all except James College).
