RAILSIM Australian - Cabride page 3
This is actually the first picture of our run, and we are sitting in Adelaide railway station in the southern-most platform, adjacent North Terrace.
This station was one of several closed with the 1994-5 service rationalisation associated with the conversion of the right hand track to Standard Gauge, and the provision of crossing loops on the Broad Gauge that we are travelling on.
Station location isn't quite correct, the platforms don't curve here.

propaganda outside annesley college interesting, because it reminded me of the Goodwood railway station.
i can see how this happened, though - the CoS stuck up their hands to beautify a train station, and TransAdelaide (the local public transport authority) were more than happy.

The line leaves Adelaide station under the Morphett Street Bridge and passes the Railcar Depot on the left and the old Adelaide Gaol and Police Barracks on the right before heading under the Port Road Bridge, then the Bakewell Bridge to Mile End station.
The aspect from the train is now urban as the line passes through the more affluent suburbs of Millswood, Kings Park and Unley Park before reaching the Cross Road crossing and the Unley Park station where you can transfer to the Circle Line bus for a trip around Adelaide's inner suburbs.
Adelaide's West parklands are now on the left of the train, with the State Athletics Centre to the right.

 Adelaide Station Environ's Project
The Adelaide Station Environ's Project involves creating buildings of significance around the Adelaide Railway Station, for the SARN4T 1998 Adelaide - Goodwood - Millswood module.
When all the buildings are completed, they will be stretched, raised and carefully placed to recreate the Adelaide Railway Station of 1998, before the Convention Centre extension.
Due to the way each seperate building will influence another, I will only be releasing this project as a fully complete package, and not as individual items along the way.

SARN4T -- South Australian Railway Network 4 Trainz - Noarlunga Line Edition
The line doesn't actually start from the city, instead it branches off the belair bound main south line just after Goodwood (approx 5km south of Adelaide station) and travels through busy surburbia going through stations like Emerson, Edwardstown and Woodlands Park.
After Woodlands station the Tonsley line branches off left toward Mitsubishi Motors, passing Mitchell Park, Clovelly Park and terminating at Tonsley station. The Main line then continues through Ascot Park, Marion and all stations to the coast where it then curves left heading south, along seaside suburbs like Hove, Brighton and Seacliff.
Lonsdale station immediately follows then down slight grade to busy surburbia again with Christie Downs then into Noarlunga station (right in the heart of shopping complex and Bus Interchanges) where line terminates.

South Australian Railway Network 4 Trainz
The module includes unprototypical Adelaide Station and STA Railcar Depot/Yard, modified from the original Adelaide Module 1, this will be upgraded to prototypical standards in the 1998 TRS2004 version due late 2004 or early 2005.
I would like to acknowledge Craig 'Redbull' Grosser's efforts in constructing the module near and around Goodwood station and the Noarlunga line turnout.
1Km south of Millswood Station, and the Noarlunga line extending as far as the East Avenue Level Crossing (just before Clarence Park station) which is where Redbull's Noarlunga Line can be merged on.

RAILSIM - Australian Version page 4 - Routes
Each is as accurately portrayed as possible for specified eras of operation, as some details may vary according to the year represented; for example the main south line out of Adelaide was reduced from dual to single track between Goodwood and Belair because of gauge standardisation in 1995.
The route currently exists in beta form between other locations on the Barossa line and both Adelaide station and Mile End Goods.
This is available in both dual track from Brighton to Stanvac, and the earlier single track version with no passenger stations from where the line diverged just before the old Hallet Cove station (on the top of the hill heading east).

 Australian Democrats - SA Division
The Democrats have been advocating the extension of the tram line from Victoria Square to the Adelaide Railway Station as a first step in rejuvenating Adelaide's very limited light rail system.
It would mean that a passenger catching a train at Gawler would be able to travel through to Noarlunga with only one change at one station, that is, Adelaide Railway Station.
It is a sad indictment of successive governments that this lengthy period of neglect of Adelaide's public transport network has left us with a fragmented system that, obviously, is stuck in the seventies given that nothing has happened for 24 years.

Containing Urban Sprawl through Proper Metropolitan Planning
For example, I would consider putting nodes of very high density living within the city in the vicinity of the Blackwood and Mitcham railway stations and potentially in the vicinity of the Goodwood railway station.
In particular, around these railway station nodes I would zone for quite dense urban development but I would do it in a very planned way.
And the Mitcham railway station has bus routes adjacent to it.
