Googie Withers, CBE (born March 12, 1917 in Karachi, Pakistan) is a British actress.
Withers' most recent screen performance was as the music teacher in the 1996 film Shine for which she and the other cast members were nominated for a Screen Actors Guild for "Outstanding Performance By A Cast".
Withers was made Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2002.

In the United States Googie Withers is probably best known for her appearance in The Haunted Mirror sequence of the episodic thriller Dead of Night (1946) and in a smaller role in Hitchcock's The Lady Vanishes (1938).
In 1958 Googie moved with her husband, John McCallum, to Australia where for years he managed the country's largest chain of theatres.
Googie took over the lead in Terence Rattigan's The Deep Blue Sea from Peggy Ashcroft in the West End and won an award when she recreated the character on English television.

This atmosphere is heightened by sterling performances by James Donaldas the pathologist, and Googie Withers, as hospital surgeon in love with him.
While it may sound like a hokey soap opera, it is actually a well-made British A-feature, realistically played by a large and excellent cast that includes a number of well-known faces, among them Petula Clark, Moira Lister, Jack Watling, Basil Radford, and, for the eagle-eyed, Patrick Troughton in a bit part.

She made over thirty films between 1934 and 1941, including Trouble Brewing (1939) with George Formby, a brief, giggly appearance for Alfred Hitchcock in The Lady Vanishes (1938), and three 'quota quickies' directed by Michael Powell: The Girl in the Crowd (1934), The Love Test (1935) and Her Last Affaire (1935).
Married to John McCallum, the leading man in her two best films, Googie Withers moved to Australia in the 1950s, where she continued to work - Country Life (1994).
