GoongarrieNationalPark is north of Kalgoorlie and the best time to visit to see the fantastic flora and fauna at its best is the spring.
Coolum NationalPark with its rugged Mt Coolum is to the township's south while Peregian Beach Environmental Park, to the north is a large reserve of coastal heathland with several walking trails leading through to the beach.
The Great Sandy NationalPark is in the top half of Fraser Island and is home to a variety of endangered wildlife such as the acid frog, the ground parrot, ant-blue butterfly, the beach stone-curlew and the false water-rat.
GoongarrieNationalPark, nearly 50,000ha in extent includes large areas of Mulga.
The Park's most significant features are the vast Delisser Sandhills and Wilson Bluff, a high limestone cliff which provides inspiring view of the awesome coastal cliffs beginning at Eucla and continuing unbroken for hundreds of kilometres to the east.
The Park's flora is mallee scrub and heathland, typical of the local coastline.
However, nationalpark visitor fees are only payable on the first day of an extended visit when camping within the park, but camping fees are payable for each night's camping.
Camping fees are payable in addition to nationalpark visitor fees where applicable.
Although pets are allowed in State forests, they are not allowed in national parks and nature reserves.
With its magnificent coastline, endless kilometres of sandy beaches, nationalpark forests, vast plains, lush tropical rainforests in the far north, forested mountains and massive wilderness areas, and the natural wonder that is the Great Barrier Reef, it is Australia's No 1 tourist destination.
This is actually four large national parks, South West, Wild Rivers, Cradle Mountain and Walls Of Jerusalem, plus some small reserves and covers 20% of the entire state.
For those of you who don't know anything about the park, it is located in Southern Suburbs of Sydney alongside its more famous sister, The Royal NationalPark.
From here we headed down to Kalbarri NationalPark to view the wildflowers to compare what we had seen here about four years ago.

Following the time at Perth we headed to the Stirling Range NationalPark for a few days and undertook some walks especially the very steep Bluff Knoll walk.
