		Hariduspur launchghat, Ulpur Bazar, Boiltali, Satpar Bazar, Tentulia, Kongshur, Bhennabari, Ghandhishur and Chamta under Gopalganj Sadar upazila were damaged and its vast areas were washed in river bed by MBR Canel erosion erosion recently.
		Jalirpar Bazar, Kaligram, Baniarchar and Chagolchira under Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj district were damaged and its vast areas were washed in river bed by Kumar River erosion recently.

	Bomb in Bangladesh Church Kills Ten
		Police said the bomb was believed to have been concealed in a sack kept inside the church, and went off soon after the prayers had begun.
		Gopalganj, where Sunday's blast occurred, is the home district of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed.

		Ten people were killed Sunday and 12 others injured, some seriously, when a bomb exploded in a church at Baniarchar village in Gopalganj district, some 100 km from here, where people had assembled for Sunday mass prayer.
		Gopalganj is one of the few districts in Bangladesh having a sizeable Christian population, who are otherwise a very insignificant minority.
		In last July, bombs were discovered near the venue of public meeting in Gopalganj only a few hours before Hasina was to address a meeting.

	The Hindu : Raghunath Jha gets bail in model code violation case
		A local court today granted bail to Raghunath Jha, a Samata member of the dissolved Lok Sabha from Gopalganj, in a case of violation of model code of conduct in the 1999 general elections.
		Jha's counsel, Prabhunath Singh, pleaded that his client had not received the notices served by the court and that the sections under which the case was filed against him were bailable.
		The court had also issued arrest warrants against Gopalganj district presidents of BJP and Samata Party Harinarain Singh and Prasiddha Narain Mishra respectively in the same case, but the two were released on bail some time ago after they appeared before the court.

		Gopalganj: Chief Minister Rabri Devi's brother and RJD MP Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav, who left Gopalganj yesterday following an externment order, has found a way to remain in touch with the voters.
		Yadav is staying in a guest house of the sugarcane department of Uttar Pradesh, about 20 km from Gopalganj, sources close to the MP said.

		GOPALGANJ: Prisoners finally lifted the siege at the high-security gopalganj district jail on Sunday as the district administration assured them that their âgenuine grievancesâ would be looked into.
		The minister said the prisoners demanded immediate release of six co-prisoners aged over 70 years as well as construction of a new jail building to lessen the pressure on the existing building.
		Choudhry said the state government was in favour of releasing the prisoners aged over 70 but since the state law department raised certain objections to the proposal, it could not be implemented.
