The Gopalganj district magistrate demolished the boundary walls erected by former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi's brother Sadhu Yadav on government land.
Gopalganj was Yadav's stronghold during the last 15 years when the RJD was in power in the state.
However, Yadav denied that the walls demolished by the district magistrate was on a land encroached by him.

Gopalganj (Bihar): Police have issued an arrest warrant against Sadhu Yadav, the brother-in-law of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, in connection with the case of alleged assault of a candidate for the post of chief of a block development committee in the district.
Gopalganj District Magistrate Murlidhar Rai said that efforts were on to track down Yadav and his police commandos for the assault on Dinesh Sah, a candidate for the post of Phulwaria block development committee chief.
The district magistrate said the victim had registered an FIR against Yadav and his security guards last night after which the arrest warrant was issued.

Prasad had quashed the district magistrate’s order to declare Sadhu Yadav a “zilla badar”, a phrase that has entered the rich poll-time lexicon, and roughly means orders to an individual to keep off a district.
Sadhu’s position is not a cause of envy, because his wife, Indira Yadav is contesting the Gopalganj seat as an Independent, despite the RJD fielding Ambika Prasad Yadav as its official candidate.

On Thursday Anand Kumar, the only son of noted Hindi writer and JNU professor Manager Pandey, was shot dead in his home village of Laheri in Gopalganj district during an encounter with criminals in mysterious circumstances.
The agitators sprinkled kerosene on the picket and torched it after the policemen resorted to lathicharge and teargassing and fired in the air to stop the demonstration with the bodies of three students on the Jehanabad-Arwal road, the sources said.
The District Magistrate of Gopalganj has been entrusted by the ADM to inquire into the incident and submit his report within 15 days.
