Bishop Artemije acquainted the people with the position of the Serbian Orthodox Church that it was in the best interest of the Serb people to register because this confirmed their determination to remain and survive in their centuries-old homes.
After visiting Gorazdevac, Bishop Artemije was escorted by Italian KFOR troops to the Serb village of Osojane, located between Djurakovac and Klina, where two groups of a total of 83 returnees had recently arrived.
The residents of Gorazdevac also intended to offer assistance but they were not provided with an escort.

Minister Tadic insisted that the "terrorist attack on the group of young people and children in Gorazdevac, in which the Serbs were returning under the UN auspices was aiming at the escalation of conflict and at the attempt to destabilise the peacekeeping project in Kosovo-Metohija as well as finding the peaceful political solution.
According to Svilanovic, these tragic events are a consequence of wrong decisions to abandon the idea of seizing the weapons from those who possess it and to transfer all those who have been involved in some crimes, without establishing their real responsibility, to the Kosovo Protection corps.
According to Zivkovic, this was only a finale of a huge process of terrorism that the international community did not prevent, although it made commitments through the 1244 UN Resolution to provide the return and safety for the refugees and the ones that stayed in Kosovo-Metohija.

The funeral, in the village of Gorazdevac near Pec, was also attended by Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Zivkovic, deputy Serbian Prime Minister Nebojsa Covic, deputy UNMIK head Charles Brayshaw, Kosovo Minister Nenad Bogdanovic and the majority of MPs from the Kosovo-Serb Return Coalition.
GORAZDEVAC - Gorazdevac local Rajko Jandzikovic, who was, after today's attack on Serbs, transporting the wounded to the hospital in Pec together with Milivoje Pavlovic, stated that they were attacked near the farmer's market in that city by a group of Albanians using their fists and stones.
The massacre of innocent children in Gorazdevac is first and foremost a shocking indicator of the real situation in Kosovo and Metohija that the majority of UNMIK and KFOR representatives, together with Albanian political leaders, are persistently attempting to hide from the global public in order to rationalize their own failures.

They are not going to contribute to the recent success stories of Serb returnees, who returned to Kosovo precisely because they received a public letter from Albanian leaders encouraging them to return,” she added.
