Mackintosh was born in Fort Frances, northwestern Ontario, and was educated at the University of Manitoba.
In the provincial election of 1995, Mackintosh was re-elected in St. Johns with 4513 votes, against 1610 for Liberal Bron Gorski.

Mackintosh is about to get more inmates as a result of fewer conditional sentences, Manitobans might expect that he has a plan to expand jails and at what cost.
Mackintosh is so gung ho on a new law and order measure that he embraces it before he has a plan or resources to deal with it might be forgivable were this the first time that he put the cart before the horse, but it is not.
Mackintosh that it is justice that is blind, not the minister.

Mackintosh said the issue of drug-impaired driving surfaced last week when provincial justice ministers met with federal Justice Minister Martin Cauchon in Quebec.

If you are referring to the area from White Pine Picnic Area to the Cemetery, this is usually referred to as White Pine Trail (a northern extention of Tilden's Woods Trail).
All areas of the Park are rich in bird song including many warblers such as Wilson's, Canada, Blackpoll, Tennessee and Mourning, etc. A Connecticut Warbler was singing just east of the Tip transit stop, perhaps the same bird as yesterday.
Concession Road D north of the Park is still a bit flooded and shorebirds are still present at this location.
