The popularity of these books makes me wonder about parents who host dress-up and make-up parties for little girls, who dress them up in glam fashions years before they even care about clothes, who take young girls for manicures and pedicures, and get their pre-teens' hair permed or highlighted.
Seems the "Gossip Girl" books are setting girls up to continue reading such books as adults, when they have more money to spend.
I knew the Gossip Girls books were bad, but I didn't realize that they were that bad.
